Western Canadian Red Cedar is a soft wood that is naturally resistant to the elements, and as such it is an ideal sauna wood for outdoor saunas.  Furthermore, it looks great treated or left to weather naturally!  Still, some people prefer to keep their sauna looking “new” for a long time, especially if it is in a setting that is not visited frequently, such as a vacation home or remote cabin or lodge.

We are periodically asked if we are able to provide gas- fired heaters for Almost Heaven Saunas. The answer is yes, and they are available in either propane or natural gas configurations.  People most always install our Barrel Saunas outdoors, and in certain applications there is limited access to electrical power.  In such instances a gas-fired heater may be appropriate.  A gas-fired sauna can add up to $2,000 to the price of the sauna kit and also requires added installation work.  However, the outcome is a sauna that is not required to have electrical power and allows you to place the sauna in more remote settings.  For more information, contact Almost Heaven Saunas at 888-355-3050.  Almost Heaven Saunas has been  manufacturing high-quality saunas in Greenbrier County, West Virginia for over thirty years.
