Some Barrel Sauna manufacturers ship their saunas fully assembled. While this may sound like an advantage, there are risks. In addition to the difficulty in placing a fully assembled sauna without damage to the sauna or property, there are significant structural issues that can compromise the integrity of the sauna.
High Quality Cooperage Construction
A true Barrel Sauna is constructed in the cooperage, or barrel making, tradition. This means that the staves are drawn together with the bands that surround the sauna with minimal or zero usage of nails or other fasteners. The problem with shipping an assembled cooperage sauna is that the handling in shipment will cause the staves to shift and separage, creating gaps and compromising the structural integrity of the sauna.
Almost Heaven Saunas come to you partially assembled. The Barrel Sauna ends and benches are all pre-assembled, and all of the staves are pre-cut so that everything fits precisely the way it is supposed to. Here you see pictures of a Barrel Sauna Kit at a home in New Mexico. The sauna overlooks the Jemez Mountain Range in the Sante Fe National Forest, and the setting is both rustic and inviting. I absolutely love the way in which this customer treated the red cedar, putting multiple coats of clear stain on the sauna to bring out the full color of the wood.

The internet is loaded with information about saunas, although much of it is very misleading. As we have mentioned before, an infrared therapy room is NOT a sauna at all, and does not deliver the benefits of a traditional wet sauna. Almost Heaven Saunas manufactures only true, high-quality Finnish saunas, and the health benefits of our saunas are many. New Barrel Sauna installation in Tennessee
I have just returned from personally installing a 4- person Almost Heaven Barrel Sauna in Louisville, TN, just south of Knoxville. While I may be biased, I have to say that the assembly was easy and fast; less than three hours, and that included transporting the components to the backyard. Almost Heaven Saunas produces the highest quality cooperage saunas in the world, and I am proud to say that we are a U.S. manufacturing company that has been building saunas for over thirty years. This lakefront installation is another example of an ideal outdoor location for our most popular sauna, and I am happy to say that we have yet another satisfied sauna customer!
